Emotional Intelligence

Did you know that your Emotional Intelligence or EQ is a bigger determining factor of resilience and success in life than your IQ?

Emotional Intelligence has been identified as one of the top skills for the 21st Century by the World Economic Forum.

What is emotional intelligence anyway? Fundamentally, it’s the ability to notice your emotions, know what you’re feeling, be able to feel what you’re feeling so you can navigate through the experience. EQ leads to greater self-integration, which allows more empathy for others’ emotions, deepening connection and social interactions.

Emotional Health

You’d think it was a no brainer to feel your feelings, right? But there’s a big difference between knowing what you’re feeling and being able to experience the emotions.

Emotional health is not only about big issues like depression or anxiety. It includes the little worries, frustrations, doubts, sadness or guilt that you experience in your daily life.

Most of us have never been taught, or never learned, how to navigate the intensity of ‘bad’ feelings. It’s difficult, and can be literally ‘painful’; these uncomfortable emotions are not only held in our mind and in our thoughts but also our physical bodies. (For example, tightness in your neck and shoulders when you’re worried, tension in your stomach when you’re nervous, or heaviness in your heart when you’re sad).

In this workshop I share how acknowledging and mobilising emotions regulates interactions, physical health, and responses to daily stress. Learn to use your emotions as your guideposts rather than something to manage or control. Become responsive vs. reactive; empowered in life, in health and in your relationships.

I will share what emotion regulation means, including:

  • Is anger good or bad?
  • What to do with sadness (and why crying doesn’t always help)
  • Why is shame good? (you read that right)
  • What does envy do for us?
  • Why fear is necessary
  • Why indecision is helpful

Emotional Freedom Techniques

I will introduce EFT (also known as tapping), a simple, practical and useful technique that you learn to use right away. EFT is a powerful tool that helps in the three ‘A’s needed for healing and growth: Awareness, Acceptance and Action.

EFT is an evidence-based practice; current research includes more than 100 studies published in peer-reviewed journals.

This is an experiential and interactive workshop including time for Q&A.

Participant feedback:
“The workshop gave me a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of our mind, body, and feelings, along with how to use EFT. My biggest take away was the breathing and tapping technique that I can implement on myself and the student athletes I work with. Thank you Falguni for a warm, inclusive and thought provoking session” -K.R.

“Discussing emotions is always tricky for people. But ultimately the society we need to create to sustain the planet depends on our ability to speak emotionally with some sort of comfort or fluency.” – Josh Bernstein
