EFT Practitioner Certification requirements
In addition to completing three day Levels 1 and 2 training course, there is a mentoring and assessment process required for practitioner certification, which includes significant practice and case studies.
To achieve the level of EFT International (EFTi) Accredited Certified EFT Practitioner, students must successfully complete the following minimum competency requirements:
Attend Levels 1 and 2 training by an EFTi Trainer and receive your Certificate of Attendance.
Join EFT International as a “Student member”, then access the online Practitioner exam via the EFT International website.
After passing the exam, document a minimum of 50 EFT practice sessions working with at least 20 different individuals, using EFT exclusively. Each EFT session must be a minimum of 45-minutes in length.
Receive 6 hours of mentoring (either 1-to-1 or in a group of 8 or less) with your EFTi Trainer/Mentor.
Submit to EFTi Trainer/Mentor a minimum of 4 case studies: 3 Client Case Studies (on separate individuals) and 1 Personal Case Study (on a personal issue). Case studies must demonstrate competent, professional, and individualised application of foundational EFT skills acquired during EFT Levels 1 and 2 training and post-training practice and experience.
All case studies must be submitted within 12 months of attending the Level 2 Training. If more than 12 months have passed since you attended the Level 2 training, your Trainer/ Mentor may request that you attend a refresher course.
Provide an in-person OR audio OR video demonstration of an EFT session, and discuss
this session with your Trainer /Mentor. This demonstration (and discussion) counts as one Client Case Study.
Complete any additional, discretionary requirements as outlined by your EFTi Trainer/Mentor during the certification process. Mentors may require additional client sessions/practice hours, 1-to-1 mentoring meetings or case studies as needed to complete their assessment.
Welcome to EFT International as a Certified Practitioner!
Once you have completed all of the requirements and your Trainer is assured of competency on your part, your Trainer will contact EFTi and you can upgrade your EFT Membership from Student Member to “Accredited Certified EFT Practitioner”. Congratulations!
To maintain your Accredited Certified EFT Practitioner status with EFTi, you must fulfil the annual CPD and mentoring hours required.
Personal EFT work via sessions with a certified EFTi Practitioner.
If you are considering getting certified as an EFT Practitioner I highly recommend that you do personal work in EFT sessions with another certified EFTi practitioner. This is for you to directly experience EFT for yourself, as a client. This can be highly beneficial in terms of developing empathy, rapport, understanding the value of listening, and other skills which are important in an effective EFT practitioner.
