META-Health: decoding physical symptoms

Resolve chronic symptoms. Regain optimal health.
Are you suffering from a chronic physical issue that you cannot get to the bottom of? Has it left you frustrated, overwhelmed, afraid, confused? A META-Health analysis can literally help to get to the bottom of it all, finding the root causes that keep symptoms chronic. With this knowledge we can take conscious action to allow for the body to self heal.

Our bodies are auto-regulating systems that are designed to heal naturally. If you cut your finger, the cut heals automatically – unless it is prevented from healing in some way. So why is it that some symptoms simply don’t seem to resolve?

What gets in the way of your body healing?

META-Health shoulder painWhen injuries, physical pain and illnesses recur or stay chronic over extended periods of time, there is usually some unconsidered aspect getting in the way. Healing can be impeded by unconscious thought patterns, beliefs, decisions, stressful environments, habits, as well as social lifestyle.

Recent, acute physical injuries (for example, a fracture, sprain or muscle injury) heal faster when any negative processes are recognised and released. This could be fear or trauma at the time of injury, any limiting beliefs, even worry or anxiety from receiving a diagnosis.

What if you knew exactly what needs to be resolved and to allow your body to heal fast?

META-Health is the science of body-mind-social health with a focus on how specific stress triggers, emotions and beliefs affect specific organ symptoms. It is about the interconnectedness of the body, mind and social environment and the art of self-healing.

To be META-Healthy means to be aware of your body’s intelligence, the stress triggers, emotions and beliefs that affect your organ symptoms and taking conscious actions for self-healing and personal growth.

“Ultimately our stresses and limitations are held not only in our mental narratives but also in our physical bodies.”

META-Health for headaches, pains, migrainesHow would you like to regain optimal health?
My job is to be a detective and work with you to find root causes that are getting in the way of your well being. We work together to release any unconscious triggers (including thoughts and emotions) which may be keeping your symptoms chronic, so you can reclaim optimal health. As you resolve specific stressors and disruptions, you will go through a multi-dimensional transformation process, allowing your body to heal optimally.

Counselling

Counselling therapy

Life comes with ups as well as downs for all of us, and while we are usually good at processing the happiness and joys of life, we sometimes have trouble dealing with the downs. Talking with friends and family is helpful, but there are times when those closest to us make it difficult for us to hear our own voice. Getting many differing opinions may also lead to confusion and additional stress.

Counselling offers a safe and confidential space for you to voice your concerns and difficulties while being heard. A space in which you can stand back from your everyday life and reflect on what you might wish to do to change things to make them better. A counsellor is supportive and non-judgemental, someone who strives to understand thoughts and feelings from your point of view.

People seek counselling for a wide variety of reasons:

  • Stressful or distressing experiences, currently or in the past, even in childhood, which need to be shared in a safe environment. These may include relocation to a new city, separation or divorce, loss of a loved one, an accident, or even witnessing something traumatic that is difficult to recover from.
  • A desire to change certain behaviours, like food cravings or addictions, excessive anger, overwhelming or uncontrollable thoughts, or certain social behaviours.
  • Support through a serious illness.
  • Feelings of depression or anxiety.
  • Feeling uncertain about a change in life path/career.
  • Counselling also serves as a guide for personal development, to expand awareness and grow into one’s full potential, and so can be beneficial for anyone.

As your counsellor I listen, and help you connect to your inner resources, so you can cope with and overcome any challenges you are experiencing and live your life in a way that is most meaningful and satisfying to you.

“It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.”

Are you living your best life? If not, what’s stopping you?
Sometimes you just need to talk, even if you don’t know where to start or what the problem is, exactly. I aim to create a safe, supportive, non-judgmental environment, so you can voice your concerns while feeling heard.

If you want to feel good about yourself, improve relationships, confidence, work performance, self-esteem, physical well being; we can work together to resolve what is keeping you from living your life in a way that is most meaningful and satisfying to you.

With a focus on mind-body-social approach, I practice the kind of therapy that is more than just talk.

Research has shown that we have two distinct levels of awareness; embodied (physical body) and conceptual (mental structure, e.g., thoughts). I listen to both, the narrative as well as the stress held in the body, and work together with you to come to the best possible outcome for you in the present.

Private Sessions :

Wherever you are at right now, I believe in you. I am fully invested in doing my part to get you to connect to, and use, your inner resources, so you can live your life in a way that is most meaningful and satisfying to you.

Physical symptoms:

My body-mind-social approach helps me to work with you regardless of what difficulty you are experiencing. If you’re suffering from physical symptoms and can’t find a solution, chances are there is an underlying emotional root cause. I’ll be detective and work with you to find root causes that are getting in the way of your well being, so you can release triggers that may be keeping your symptoms chronic. As Dr. Gabor Maté says, “The physiology of one individual cannot be separated from the psychological and social environment.”

Workshops:

Working in groups can be a powerful way to access change within you. It can often bring new perspectives to help you see your situation a new light. Clarity brings new solutions. Working in groups helps to ease a sense of isolation as you build a connection with other members. The same as individual sessions, group sessions and workshops are confidential. Consider attending my monthly EFT tapping circle or organising a group for people experiencing similar issues. A cost effective way of accessing support.

I hold a Masters in Counselling from Monash University (Australia), an Accredited Advanced EFT Practitioner certification from AAMET and a META-Health Master Practitioner certification from IMMA.
