META-Health: decoding physical symptoms

Our bodies are auto-regulating systems that are designed to heal naturally. If you cut your finger, the cut heals automatically – unless it is prevented from healing in some way. The same with that deep purple bruise if you hit your leg against a chair. So why is it that some symptoms simply don’t seem to resolve?

What gets in the way of your body healing?

Physical symptoms are often signals from our body; pointers to mental, emotional and lifestyle blocks. This is especially true of chronic symptoms, which we may have been dealing with over a long period of time.

META-Health shoulder painWhen injuries, physical pain and illnesses recur or stay chronic over extended periods of time, there is usually some unconsidered aspect getting in the way. Healing can be impeded by unconscious thought patterns, beliefs, decisions, stressful environments, habits, as well as social lifestyle.

Recent, acute physical issues can also heal faster when any negative processes are recognised and released. This could be fear or trauma at the time of injury, any limiting beliefs, even worry or anxiety from receiving a diagnosis.

Monthly EFT Tapping Circle

This is a low cost EFT group session : at only $150, it’s an effective way of receiving support between private sessions, or seeing yourself through a difficult time.
Working in groups can be powerful, often bringing new perspectives which help you see your situation a new light, creating shifts and new solutions. The same as individual sessions, this group session is also a confidential space where you can safely voice any concerns.

Meeting regularly to experience EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), also known as tapping. A simple yet powerful technique which effectively releases stuck energy and negative feelings that impede your mental and emotional well-being.

The technique is so simple you can continue to use it on your own to resolve daily stresses.

If you are interested in helping yourself heal in any area of life: stress, overwhelm, health, loss, family, finances, relationships or even career, you will find this monthly group hugely beneficial.

My intention for this group is to provide a safe, confidential, non-judgemental environment so everyone feels supported and empowered.

  • Whether you’re just starting out with EFT or are an experienced tapper, you will benefit from this group
  • EFT/tapping is simple to learn and do, however people often report ‘forgetting to tap’. This group serves as a reminder to continue to practice EFT on your own.
  • Tapping as a group has literal benefits for everyone, as tapping with others can help reduce the emotional intensity of your own issues. This is known as “borrowing benefits” and is one of the most profound discoveries of EFT.

Stay or Run? Dealing with Discomfort

Sitting with emotional discomfort is difficult. We all have strategies to cope with/run from emotional pain.

This is not surprising, as usually, this is what we have been taught, albeit unintentionally. Don’t cry, have a sweet; don’t be sad; stop making such a fuss; it’s not so bad; just get on with it… sound familiar? Not only do we not like feeling pain, we don’t like to see loved ones in pain either, which is often the origin of these sentiments. And having learned this as children, it becomes how we act from our subconscious space as adults.

However, true freedom ultimately comes from embracing our emotional pain, from sitting with the discomfort. This requires awareness, and patience with ourselves, as we reprogram our reflexes – to hurt, pain, anger, stress – into mindful reactions.

In her book Daring Greatly, Brené Brown (Ph.D., LMSW), research professor & author says: “Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy… Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.
