Sometimes you just need to talk, even if you don’t know where to start or what the problem is, exactly. I aim to create a safe, supportive, non-judgmental environment, so you can voice your concerns while feeling heard.
Specialising in recovery from trauma, relief from chronic pain and grief counselling, I also help clients with stress, anxious feelings, low moods, confidence and self-esteem, performance, phobias, life transitions and general well being.
Incorporating the fundamental principles of traditional talk therapy with holistic approaches, my comprehensive approach is geared toward working with the full spectrum of human experience: emotional, mental, physical and spiritual; the whole individual within the community, in relation to the environment.
I firmly believe that ultimately our stresses and limitations are held not only in our mental narratives but also in our physical bodies, and that both somatic as well as cognitive approaches are important for healing, recovering and making positive life changes.
In my experience no single form of therapy is apt, or even adequate in all situations, and my integrative approach allows me to meet your specific and individual needs in our work together.
Wherever you are at right now, I believe in you. I am fully invested in doing my part to work with you, so you can connect to, and use your inner resources, allowing you to live your life in a way that is most meaningful and satisfying to you.
My integrative body-mind-social approach enables me to work with you regardless of what difficulty you are experiencing. If you’re suffering from physical symptoms – including chronic pain or illness – and can’t find a solution, chances are there are an underlying unresolved aspects. I’ll be detective and work with you to find root causes that are getting in the way of your well being, so you can release triggers for your acute or chronic symptoms and allow your body to heal. As Dr. Gabor Maté says, “The physiology of one individual cannot be separated from the psychological and social environment.”
Working in groups can be a powerful way to access change within you. It can often bring new perspectives to help you see your situation a new light. Clarity brings new solutions. Sharing and listening to others helps to ease a sense of isolation as you build a connection with other members. Same as individual sessions, groups and workshops are confidential. Consider attending my monthly Introduction to EFT Tapping group, the 6 Week Support Group or consider getting together a group in your workplace or community, for people experiencing similar issues. A cost effective way of accessing support.
